If you’re looking for an extra side gig for saving up on little stuff Swagbucks is an awesome, LEGIT rewards company. They pay you in eGift Cards to watch videos, shop, complete surveys and a ton of other stuff.
If you’ve heard about them before and still haven’t tried it you’re missing out. I’ve used them for over two years now and have yet to run into any issues. I even earned $45 (for basically doing nothing) for Christmas last year.
If you have experience with Swagbucks (good or bad), please share it in the comments below.
How it Works
Each Swagbuck is equivalent to 1 cent. Collect 100 and you’ve got a dollar. You can cash out for Amazon.com eGift Cards at as little as 300 points ($3). I usually wait until I have 500 and do a $5 gift card. They do have other gift cards available to redeem, I just always do Amazon.
I usually get between $5-15 a month, that doesn’t seem like a lot but it adds up. It’s so nice to go “Oh I need this” pull up amazon and use the egift card credits to purchase that item.
You can use your phone or the computer. I use a combo of both.
It’s 100% free to sign-up and you don’t have to spend money to earn points.
You can earn Points by:
-Searching the Web -Watching Videos -Completing special offers
-Taking Surveys -Shopping -Inviting friends to join
-Monthly Bonus Points
How To Earn Swagbucks:
Right now, I have videos playing on my phone while I am typing this post. They even auto-play, it’s that easy. A set of six videos will get you two Swagbucks, videos range from 1-3 minutes long.
You can watch videos on your computer too. If you’re working on your computer you can have a window open in the background playing videos.
Most of my points do come from videos. I’ll have them going while I am cooking dinner or working on the computer.
I haven’t had very much success trying to do surveys on my phone. I will do them on occasion, on the computer. They usually take about 20 minutes and you can earn 60-80 Swagbucks per-survey.
I am really not a fan of the surveys. Don’t waste my time and make me answer 10 minutes of qualifying questing and then decide I’m not a match. It kinda makes me want to punch the survey maker. So, I tend to avoid them at all costs. I have done a couple that worked out, but the 50 I “failed” just doesn’t do it for me.
I am a huge online shopper and do like over 90% of my Christmas shopping online.
Swagbucks works similar to Ebates and offers “cash back” in the form of Swagbucks. They pretty much offer a percentage back at every retailer. I am such a frugal shopper that I always compare the two and see which is offering a higher cash back rate.
I have done a couple special offers on my phone, which are mostly downloading apps. But, I mainly stick to videos.
You can also refer people and get 10% of what they earn for the existence of their account.
I tried their search tool bar and made them my preferred search engine, it was not pretty. They use yahoo and the results are less than stellar. I was only earning 5-11 swagbucks a day and kept having to go back to google. It lasted a whole week. It just wasn’t for me.
Redeem your points when you hit 500. I’ve read reviews about people’s accounts being terminated. How pissed would you be If you were saving them say for a $25 gift card and your account just disappeared. Plus, once you enter the code into amazon they hold it and just keep adding to the amount until you use it.
It takes 1-3 days for them to send you your eGift Card code. If you know you are going to buy something soon cash out.
In short it’s nice for extra “money” and takes little effort.
